Redwood Unified School District is looking for a Part-Time English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor to support our Adult Education Division. This role involves teaching English language and literacy skills to adult learners in the evenings and on weekends, helping participants improve their communication abilities for work, daily life, and civic engagement.
You will design and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds of your students, ranging from beginner to intermediate proficiency levels. You will assess student progress, maintain accurate attendance and assessment records, and participate in periodic staff meetings and training sessions.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and a TESOL or CELTA certification or a state-approved ESL teaching authorization. Prior experience teaching adult learners in a community or school setting is highly preferred. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Hmong, or another language spoken by local immigrant communities is an asset.
